Compton Verney is an award winning art gallery, housed in a Grade I listed Robert Adam mansion, and set in 120 acres of stunning parkland & lake, designed by Capability Brown, and located just 9 miles outside Stratford upon Avon. Compton Verney hold many World class exhibitions, activities and workshops, and provides inspiring outreach and learning programmes for the community.

On Saturday, 29th June, Compton Verney are holding their first ever Home & Garden Show, from 10am-5pm, and we are delighted to be exhibiting our creative styling & floral design at the show.

Our preparations for the show have been going on for several months now, and with just a week to go, we’re not finished yet!  It started with sourcing the perfect table covering - table cloths are a minefield, there are so many to choose from out there, but the majority look like they once belonged to my Aunt Mildred!  I then fell upon some rather gorgeous raw table linens from the US, (thanks to Pinterest!), but even with an introductory discount, I would have needed to remortgage the house to acquire one - who thought a table cloth could ever be a pipe dream… I finally settled on a rather lovely slate blue stonewashed linen cloth - but should I iron it or go for the lived in look? The decisions never end when you’re preparing for an event!

And then I moved onto the challenge of finding the perfect statement vase. It had to be the perfect size, not too large, not too small, so I channelled my inner Goldilocks, tossed a coin and decided on a vase that in my opinion, is just right.  My mossed March Hare will be making a special guest appearance at the show too, together with a selection of floral creations that will transform your home.

So if you find yourself with some spare some time on Saturday, 29th June, make sure you take a trip to the Compton Verney Home and Garden Show. With the chance to come and say hello to us, our gorgeous blooms, and of course our fabulous table cloth, there’s no better way to spend a (hopefully) sunny Sunday in June.
